The Roho Select Low Profile (6cm) Pressure Relief Cushion is an air cell cushion with exceptional pressure relieving qualities. Constructed from interconnected air cells, the cushion provides an adjustable, low deformation, counter-pressure environment that assists in the healing of ischemic ulcers (pressure sores at the base of the spine, lower lumbar and around the buttocks).
Ideal for a variety of uses including chairs and wheelchairs the stable design aids comfort and user positioning. The low profile shape provides discreet pressure relief
The Roho Quadtro Select Cushion uses the principle of dry flotation technology. This allows the cushion to track and move with the client, decreasing shear and friction. Constant restoring forces provide flotation and constant pressure, and low surface tension allows immersion and envelopment, decreasing tissue deformation.
Thanks to its exceptional level of pressure relief, the Roho Quadtro Select Low Profile Cushion is appropriate for high risk patients and may be suitable in the following circumstances with appropriate nursing care and guidance:
- Patients at high risk for skin breakdown
- Users with no sensation
- Clients with currently impaired skin, or a history of skin breakdown
- Users who are very thin and have prominent bony areas
- Patients who are obese
- Clients who need assistance with weight shifts and transfers (limited mobility)
The cushion is appropriate for individuals who have the ability to sit symmetrically and correct their own seating position, but are at risk from, or have a history of, skin breakdown.
